Account Executive plays a vital role in managing the company’s day-to-day financial operations. This position ensures the accuracy of financial transactions, compliance with tax regulations, and efficient handling of accounts payable and receivable. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Transactions - Process and monitor invoices, payments, and collections, reconcile supplier statements, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate, up-to-date account records.
General Ledger Maintenance - Assist in maintaining and reconciling the general ledger while accurately recording all financial transactions in the accounting system.
Financial Reporting - Prepare monthly financial reports—such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements—and assist with year-end financial statement preparation.
Tax Compliance - Prepare and submit tax returns, including GST/SST, corporate tax, and zakat, ensuring compliance with Malaysian tax laws.
Bank Reconciliations & Cash Management - Perform regular bank reconciliations, monitor and report on cash balances, and manage petty cash and office expenditures.
Employee Expense Management - Review and process employee expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Budgeting & Forecasting - Support budget and forecast preparation, while monitoring variances and reporting on financial performance.
Audit Preparation - Provide support during internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation and records are properly maintained for audit purposes.
Process Improvement - Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and assist in implementing new systems or software as needed.
Client & Vendor Communication - Communicate with clients and vendors on account status, payments, and billing inquiries, ensuring timely resolution of account-related issues.
Job Requirements
Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SQL Accounting, Xero , SAP,) and Microsoft.
Familiarity with Malaysian accounting standards and tax regulations.
At least 3 years of working experience in Accounting role or equivalent.
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
High level of accuracy in financial transactions and reporting.
Proactive, self-motivated team player with a positive attitude, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Adaptable to fast-paced environments, tight deadlines, and changing business needs, while managing multiple tasks effectively.
